The first such a handbook published in Poland, addressed to both beginners and advanced collectors. It covers a possible wide spectrum of topics related to the Stamp, i.e. stamps production and preservation. The classifying includes all known oddities of philately irrespective of whether they got into circulation legally (through the post office) or illegally. The book is based on elements from the theory of philately and factographic data (over 600 items in bibliography).

Not only basic information on the stamps has been given but also detailed information on:

• se-tenant’s
• optical bleaches found in the paper used in stamp production
• paper varieties and perforation sizes.

The work was awarded Large Gold with Jury Congratulations and Grand Prix in Philatelic Literature at National Philatelic Exhibition Katowice 2003
